A short-form social media audit template for finding what to keep, fix and test next. Review accounts and posts, separate evidence from guesses, and finish with three actions your team can own.
Start here
- Duplicate this page. Fill in the audit scope below before collecting numbers.
- In Post evidence, duplicate START HERE — blank post. In Audit actions, duplicate START HERE — blank action. Rename each copy and uncheck Starter. Examples stay in their own views.
- Turn your findings into Audit actions. Pick three priorities and assign an owner and review date.
All examples are fictional. Enter analytics manually or attach exports. This page does not connect to social accounts.
Set the audit scope
- Brand / product: [fill in]
- Reviewer and decision owner: [fill in]
- Audit date and timezone: [fill in]
- Accounts and platforms: [account links]
- Business goal: [e.g. qualified product interest; avoid “more engagement” alone]
- Publishing cohort: [posts published from date to date]
- Measurement method: [same post age / dated lifetime snapshot / activity earned within a stated date range]
- Comparison cohort: [earlier comparable period or relevant posts on the same account]
- Access: [native analytics / public metrics only / exports]
- Paid distribution: [organic only / paid separately / mixed and labelled]
Do not label lifetime totals as results earned during a month. A September publishing cohort with lifetime counts observed in October is different from September activity across all posts. If you cannot recover historical same-age metrics, use a clearly dated snapshot and note the post-age bias.
